At the start of the college year, our task was the create a track. A track of our choice genre and how we did it. Along side we learned the basics of the plugins Massive, Ultrabeat and more. We also learned about automation, multi-effects, importing and editing.
The beat loop is made with samples i found online. I matched it together, so it’s a simple drum beat, but bounced into place, so it was easier to copy over for throughout the track.
I have used Autofilter’s to add an effect of the song slowly moving in. It starts like the door is shut at a nightclub, and slowly opened to add progress in the track.

I feel like the track turned out very well in the end, The bass was a good lead and the drum loop sounded like an actual drum and bass song. The drop turned out very good as i used a recording from a Netflix series i really enjoy, Big Mouth. I personally think that made the track better because it all fits in smoothly and makes it funny, but good as well.
I changed the pitch of the bass after a while so change it up a bit, so the audience can still be interested and it’s not repetitive. Also I added a break down half way, so it was all really heavy and there was a cool down, so the track would build back up.
I could of added more however. I wanted to originally make a roller. Dark and different to popular drum and bass. But i changed the sound over 8 times. I figured the sound i wanted was one of the first sounds i created.
However the track did turn out how I wanted it in the end. A popular jump up track. So perhaps next time, I could research more into making a roller, and make one on my next track?

This track was made by Liam in my class.
I listened to the whole track and I loved it. It was liquid drum and bass. The sort of drum and bass that don’t get made so often anymore. It was chilled and relaxed but still fast paced.
At the start I noticed auto filters, to build up the track. The intro was peaceful, and the drop was on 1 minute and 6 seconds. Like a lot of drum and bass tracks do. The bass was nice, and the drum pattern was complex but however light, so it was a reck to the ears.
There was a break down at around 2 minutes, and it slowed down the track, and let it build itself back up again by using more filters to progress the track to its normal form.
I feel like the only thing that could of been changed in this track was perhaps some vocals or sound effects? To keep the listener interested and not bored of the track. However I loved it.
