On this page, i’m analyse two songs from the same artist/DJ and giving you my perspective. The group i’m analysing is known as SASASAS. This group includes 5 MC’s which are, Harry Shotta, Skibadee, Shabba D, and Stormin. Followed by two DJ’s, that being DJ Phantasy and Macky Gee. This group are quite big on making Jump up Drum and Bass.
River Monster
This song is very popular for jump up drum and bass. The quality of the production is very high. Mastered songs played at events and on speakers so they blow your head off when played with full volume. The lyrics in this song is very basic, and repetitive. In my opinion, i’m not a fan of this song. However, the production rate rockets, as this group is so popular for the younger generation. This is because everyone in the group is known for their own qualities, and sadly, one has died. But, as they have all joined together, they became popular from different audiences. The reason I’m not a fan of this song, is because the lyrics are very basic. Also the drop sounds the same as their other songs. Just feel like SASASAS make the same sounding tracks?
Anthem VIP
This is a song that I like from SASASAS. This is the Anthem, however the VIP. VIP meaning, variation in production, also meaning the producer remixes their own track. This track is very popular as it hasn’t got many lyrics. I personally find this better than the original, in my opinion. This is because I’m not a big fan of lyrics in drum and bass. However I do sometimes, depending on the MC. Not having many lyrics in this song makes it better because the sound of the song wouldn’t be heard as much, just like the original. Also, some people don’t like lyrics in songs as they don’t get to hear the actual part of the drum and bass that everyone likes to listen. However, in some places, it does make the song better, just depending on what the track sounds like and of course, the MC as well.
