Task 06 – Playlist with a theme.

This playlist was made to show the genre of drum and bass, and show the history of it, and how it effects us today.

01. Lennie De Ice – We are I.E.

This track was made in 1991, and was one of the first drum and bass songs to be born. Even though it was class as electronic, it helps us today with drum and bass. The drum patterns and the lead of the track being a funky bass. Which helps drum and bass today. The vocals of the track was repetitive which producers use now and the scratch of the vinyl which is something producers use now.

02. Egyptian Empire – The Horn Track

Egyptian Empire realeased this track in 1992. Was known as a heavy drum and bass track which effects us to this day. This is because of the drum pattern being quick and repetitive sounds which producers use now for heavy drum and bass.

03. Ray Keith Renegade – Terrorist (PA Mix)

Terrorist was one of the most popular old school drum and bass tracks people get effected on. This is because they introduced 2 step beats into a drum and bass track. Producers use this, however not as much, it’s more of a older school beat.

04. Shy FX – Original Nuttah

Shy FX made this of the year of 1994. This effected us highly to this day. This is because of the vocals throughout the track. To this day, producers use vocals or even live MC’s in there tracks. This is to stop the repetitive sounds in the background and gives the audience something else to listen to.

05. Nasty Habits – Shadow Boxing (The Remix)

This track Shadow Boxing was unique because used 2 Step beats as well as a drum and bass drum pattern. Also used a bass lead that producers use now, and a lot of tracks to this day, sound similar even though this track was released in 1996.

06. Konflict – Messiah

This track released by Konflict was an amazing track for clubs and night life. Heavy bass with 2 Step beat patterns also with funky drum and bass patterns. All mixed into one to make it a masterpiece. Producers still use this type music and put it in their own nowadays.

07. Pendulum – Another Planet

This track was popular because it was one of the first heavy raving tracks. This is a  really fast pace, raving track and I can imagine people loving it at the clubs. A long introduction followed by a heavy bass, really got people moving.

08. DJ Hazard & Distorted Minds – Mr Happy

This track was released in 2007, this changed the history of drum and bass. The funky bass, which was catchy and everyone knows it. It is still played to this day at famous venues.

09. Sub Focus – Timewarp

Sub focus released this song in 2008. This track is famous to this day because of the intro. It’s got a long building introduction to get you ready for the drop. Producers use this intro in a lot of their own tracks, so it has effected us all today.

10. Upgrade – More

This track was made by Upgrade in 2015. This shows us that what’s been copied by the history of drum and bass and how it’s effected him. This different types of bass to create a funky lead and similar drum patterns. The vocals at the start to build up the track, just very unique and what has made drum and bass what it is now.
