Task 02 – Marketing Proposal

For my final major project I have the option to do a club night/event, or an EP/LP. So for this task I’m going to push myself to my full potential and do both!

EP

My idea for my EP was to create 5 to 6 tracks but have them all collaborations. With people in my class and with people outside the class. I was going to call it, “ALR with FRIENDS”. I was thinking on doing the artwork and promoting myself to create myself a audience that are close to me. Also was going to get the people I’m collaborating with to promote too, so the range of the audience becomes wider. My Line-up was going to be:

  • ALR & Stillz
  • ALR & Ben R
  • ALR & Skatmandy
  • ALR & Rogue-T
  • ALR & DIAL
  • ALR & Ext3rnal

All different types of Drum and Bass to fill out the types of audiences and make an name for myself! To make it more of a task, I was planning to get this EP on a record label. Just something local, just to spread the word, and get to different people that have never heard my music before. Build up a fanbase.

 

Club Night

For the club night, we got ourselves a little group in our class. This involves Myself, Murray, Joe and Dion. We are holding this event in Volks Nightclub in Brighton, home place for Drum and bass. As we are putting a Drum and bass night on, we was looking at booking bigger DJ’s as our headliner, to get the word out a little more so on this night we can become more successful. Our unique selling point is we are a small group looking to make a future in holding big D&B nights, by booking bigger things and becoming more successful. We care about the people listening to good music and having the craziest nights. To go forward with this plan, we discussed roles in the group:

  • Joe – Events Manager : In charge of the booking and keeping everyone else roles under control. If anything went wrong, Joe would be the guy.
  • Myself – Art Director : In charge of the designs for the promotion and the branding for the event itself.
  • Murray – Promoter : In charge of all the social media accounts and all the promotional based posts and posters.
  • Dion : Accountant : In charge of all the money situations and makes sure everyone has the money and comes up with a realistic figure so the group can pursue with we want to do.

This event is being held June 26th. Just after Exams, and people would be ready to go out and have a good night out! If this is as successful as we want it to be, we could possibly do future work on better days for bigger things, this is our goal!
